Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announces Narkogüç operation: 1.1 tons of drugs seized in 44 provinces, including 809 kg in Istanbul
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that 1.1 tons of drugs were seized in 44 provinces as part of the Narkogüç operations.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the Narkogüç operation, which was carried out simultaneously in 44 provinces, on his social media account. In his statement, Yerlikaya said, "176 individuals were apprehended in the 'Narkogüç' operations organized simultaneously in 44 provinces against drug dealers. 1 ton and 100 kg of various drugs were seized!" and added the following:
809 KILOGRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE SEIZED
"In our 44 provinces, namely Istanbul, Izmir, Adana, Erzurum, Şanlıurfa, Denizli, Antalya, Gaziantep, Ankara, Giresun, Sakarya, Konya, Kütahya, Kırşehir, Afyon, Samsun, Batman, Osmaniye, Karaman, Bolu, Kırklareli, Bursa, Malatya, Tokat, Ağrı, Van, Şırnak, Eskişehir, Elazığ, Muğla, Yalova, Bitlis, Kahramanmaraş, Siirt, Tekirdağ, Kilis, Hatay, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Sinop, Diyarbakır, Hakkari, Mersin, and Düzce;
NARKOGÜÇ operations were carried out SIMULTANEOUSLY with the participation of 387 teams, 985 police officers, 2 aircraft, and 27 narcotics detector dogs. In the searches conducted at the suspects' addresses; 846 kg of methamphetamine, 223 kg of skunk, 11 kg of cocaine, 15 kg of cannabis, 5 kg of bonzai, 0.5 kg of heroin, 35,000 drug pills, 14 pistols, 4 rifles, and a large amount of cash were seized. The amount of methamphetamine seized in Istanbul during these operations is 809 kilograms."
