Investigation had been launched into Vedat Milor: Striking Kent Lokantası cartoon by Hicabi Demirci
Master journalist and cartoonist Hicabi Demirci drew attention to poverty in his latest cartoon following the Kent Lokantası investigation launched against Vedat Milor.
An investigation has been launched against food critic Vedat Milor on allegations of 'covert advertising' after he published a video he filmed at a Kent Lokantası (City Restaurant) on his YouTube channel titled "Four Courses for 40 Lira: Is This Price Real?".
It emerged that a complaint was filed against Milor via CİMER on February 10, 2025. As part of the investigation, a 'written opinion' was requested from Milor.
While reactions poured in against the investigation launched into Vedat Milor, master journalist and famous cartoonist Hicabi Demirci drew attention to the deepening poverty and cost of living in Turkey with his latest drawing.
In the cartoon, a long food queue is seen, and the dialogue between two people summarizes the situation:
To the question, "Did you find this place thanks to advertisements?", the other person replies, "No, I just followed the rumbling of hungry stomachs."

This striking scene laid bare the Kent Lokantası queues and the effects of the economic crisis.
