Irrigated his field using illegal electricity in rainy weather

The latest incident in the Alakuş neighborhood of Mardin's Artuklu district has laid bare the extent to which illegal consumption has reached. A farmer, who had previously accumulated an electricity debt of 27 million 783 thousand TL, continued to irrigate his field with an illegal transformer instead of paying this debt. Furthermore, it was noted that the irrigation took place in a wheat field during rainy weather.

IRRIGATED HIS FIELD WHILE IT WAS RAINING

Teams encountered an unbelievable situation during their inspections in Alakuş neighborhood. It was determined that the farmer, whose transformer had been confiscated three times before by the decision of the enforcement office, was again using electricity with an unregistered 400 kVA transformer.

The field owner, who was irrigating his field by drawing water from underground with illegal electricity in rainy weather, was intervened, and his transformer was once again dismantled and taken into custody.

Authorities stated that the field owner insists on not paying his electricity debt and continues to consume energy with illegal electricity.

It was announced that the farmer was irrigating with a 'sprinkler' system he installed on his field and that this situation harms both the quality of electricity supply and other consumers in the region.

ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEEDINGS INITIATED AGAINST THE FIELD OWNER

Officials from the Dicle Elektrik Mardin Provincial Directorate stated that such cases of illegal usage lower the quality of energy distribution and prevent fair consumption. Emphasizing that they will not compromise in the fight against illegal electricity, the authorities noted that both administrative and judicial proceedings have been initiated against the field owner. Additionally, it was stated that the indebted field owner persisted in illegal usage despite having his transformer confiscated three times previously, and that this situation increases energy losses.
