İYİ Party's Akburak asks Minister Yerlikaya about 'Ali Koç' incident: 'From whom does this individual's legal privilege stem?'

İYİ Party MP Burak Akburak stated in a post on X, "The scenes that occurred during last night's Fenerbahçe-Göztepe match, which do not befit our country, the harsh police intervention against Fenerbahçe fans, and the ugly incidents that took place are the subject of the parliamentary question I have submitted for Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya to answer."

Here is the parliamentary question submitted by Akburak for Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya to answer;

"The events that took place during the Fenerbahçe - Göztepe football match played in İzmir on August 17, 2024, have caused great public outrage. As a result of ticketed fans not being allowed into the stadium during the halftime of the match and the police's harsh intervention against fans reacting to this situation, some fans were injured, some were affected by the pepper spray used, and the situation became even more tense. During this process, Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Ali Y. Koç went to the stands where the fans were located in search of a solution, and while the events were calming down, President Ali Y. Koç was physically attacked from behind by a person holding a Göztepe accreditation card. Although it was stated that the attacker was taken in to give a statement, it was learned that he continued to watch the rest of the match and left the stadium without any action being taken against him. This situation has raised serious questions about security vulnerabilities and has damaged the reality that sports should be conducted within a framework of peace and brotherhood.

In this context:

1. What is the reason for not allowing ticketed fans into the stadium? Which authorized bodies made this decision?

2. What is the reason for the police's harsh intervention against fans who wanted to enter the stadium?

3. Who made the decision to use pepper spray? This decision caused the events to escalate rather than calm down. Has an investigation been launched regarding this situation?

4. How many people were injured during the police intervention? What is the condition of the injured and how was their treatment provided?

5. Has an investigation been launched regarding the use of pepper spray and plastic bullets? What are the rules determined by your ministry regarding the conditions under which such interventions are applied?

6. While it is known that, according to Law No. 6222, immediate action must be taken against those who cause disturbances at sports events, from whom and how does the legal privilege of the individual who physically attacked Ali Y. Koç stem?

7. On what grounds was the attacker released without having his statement taken at the stadium and allowed to watch the rest of the match? Has any action been taken against this individual?

8. Was there any negligence by the authorities regarding the incident? If so, has an investigation been launched regarding this negligence?"
