Journalist Rauf Tamer has passed away at the age of 86 following a heart attack.
Posta newspaper columnist Rauf Tamer has passed away at the age of 86.
Tamer, who was taken to a private hospital in Ulus, Istanbul, for treatment after suffering a heart attack at his home, could not be saved despite all interventions.
WHO IS RAUF TAMER?
Born in Sivas in 1937, Rauf Tamer graduated from Bursa Boys' High School and the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University.
Tamer, who began his professional career as a sports reporter for Cumhuriyet newspaper in 1959, worked for many newspapers including Ekspres, Tasvir, Yeni İstanbul, Tercüman, Hürriyet, Sabah, and Star. For many years, Tamer had been meeting with his readers through his columns in Posta newspaper, where he evaluated the current agenda.
