Mansur Yavaş had filed a lawsuit: Despite the court ruling, Gökçek is still in the ABB villa

After being removed from office, former ABB Mayor Melih Gökçek, who kept the municipality's armored jeep for 50 months before being forced to return it, is now continuing to stay in a municipal residence.

According to a report by Sözcü, Gökçek, who did not vacate the villa residence in Dikmen Valley during the eight-year legal process, has not left the house despite the Court of Cassation's finalized ruling on July 1, 2025.

Gökçek, who said "I will move out of the house" in a statement following the ruling, has not kept his word despite four months having passed and continues to live in the residence.

In 2017, while serving as ABB Mayor, Gökçek organized a tender for the sale of four villas used as municipal residences and ensured that the tender was won by his wife, Nevin Gökçek, and two of his lawyers in violation of the law.

Gökçek, who was required to vacate the house within two months of leaving office, continued to reside in the duplex, which also led to the sale transaction taking place during this period.

YAVAŞ HAD FILED A LAWSUIT

ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office and initiated a lawsuit due to this irregularity.

The court ruled that the purchase transaction was unlawful and that the properties must be returned to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. The Court of Cassation upheld this decision.

Today, the total value of the four duplex residences where Gökçek resides as an "occupier" amounts to 63 million TL.

The residences in question were purchased by Gökçek's wife for 7 million 900 thousand TL in the 2017 sale tender.

However, at the end of the legal process, the tender was found to be against the law, and it was ruled that the residences must be returned to the municipality.

Despite four months having passed since the ruling was upheld by the Court of Cassation in July, Melih Gökçek continues to stay in the municipal residence.
