Mehmet Metiner objects to Ahmet Davutoğlu: I will never stomach this

It has been alleged that some deputies from the Future Party, who were elected to parliament on CHP lists in the May 14 General Elections, will join the AKP.

Future Party Ankara Deputy Mustafa Nedim Yamalı confirmed that talks were being held with the AKP, stating, "Ahmet Davutoğlu is aware of all the meetings held within the party. If we are to join the AK Party, we will all join together with our Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu."

While Yamalı's statement remains on the agenda, former AKP deputy and Yeni Şafak columnist Mehmet Metiner made a statement regarding those who want to return to the party.

Sharing on his social media account, Metiner said, "First, leave to break up the unity. After leaving, become a militant part of the anti-Erdoğan, or even hostile, front. Now, give the message that you can return on the grounds of ensuring unity. Bravo!"

'THE AK PARTY IS THE SAME AK PARTY; ERDOĞAN IS THE SAME ERDOĞAN'

Stating that the AKP is the same AKP and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the same Erdoğan, Metiner asked, "The AK Party you left is the old AK Party. That is, the AK Party from the period you left. The Erdoğan you said had abandoned collective wisdom and become a dictator and a one-man ruler is also that same old Erdoğan," adding, "What has changed?"

Metiner also added the question to his post: "Was it wrong for you to leave and then come together on the basis of anti-Erdoğanism in the front of evil, or is it right for you to return to the party?"

Metiner's post is as follows:

"First, leave to break up the unity. After leaving, become a militant part of the anti-Erdoğan, or even hostile, front. Now, give the message that you can return on the grounds of ensuring unity.

Bravo!

Whether you return or not, whether you are accepted or not, that is a separate matter.

I mean, one would at least say they made a mistake and offer some self-criticism, right?

No!

The AK Party you left is the old AK Party. That is, the AK Party from the period you left.

The Erdoğan you said had abandoned collective wisdom and become a dictator and a one-man ruler is also that same old Erdoğan.

So what has changed?

Was it wrong for you to leave and then come together on the basis of anti-Erdoğanism in the front of evil, or is it right for you to return to the party?

If you return by offering self-criticism, I would have no objection.

Returning from a mistake is a virtue.

However, I humbly object to you presenting yourselves in any case as a political messiah who will ensure unity.

Otherwise, we are brothers who have engaged in politics together in the past.

If everyone/all of us embrace each other again by admitting our mistakes, I would be one of the first to be most pleased by this.

I will never be one of those who stomach the alternative, let it be known!"
