Meteorology issues warning: Heavy rain and storms are coming

According to the November 11 weather report from the General Directorate of Meteorology, heavy rainfall is expected in the Marmara region (excluding Edirne and Bilecik), Çanakkale, the western districts of Balıkesir, northern İzmir, Zonguldak, Düzce, and the coastal parts of Muğla. Very heavy and severe local rainfall is expected, particularly in İzmir, Balıkesir, Manisa, and the western parts of Aydın. Additionally, storms are expected in the Marmara region and the North Aegean.

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: the western parts of the country are expected to be very cloudy, with local showers and occasional thunderstorms in the Marmara region, Aegean coasts, Manisa, Antalya, Eskişehir, Bolu, Düzce, Zonguldak, and the surroundings of Bartın, while other areas are expected to be partly cloudy.

The rainfall is expected to be heavy in the Marmara region (excluding Edirne and Bilecik), Çanakkale, the western districts of Balıkesir, northern İzmir, Zonguldak, Düzce, and the coastal parts of Muğla, and locally very heavy and severe, particularly in İzmir, Balıkesir, Manisa, and the western parts of Aydın.

HEAVY RAIN WARNING

Heavy rainfall is expected in the Marmara region (excluding Edirne and Bilecik), Çanakkale, the western districts of Balıkesir, northern İzmir, the coastal parts of Muğla, and the surroundings of Zonguldak and Düzce. Locally very heavy and severe (50-100 kg/m2) showers and thunderstorms are expected, particularly in İzmir, Balıkesir, Manisa, and the western parts of Aydın. Caution and precautions should be taken against negative consequences such as flash floods, flooding, lightning, transportation disruptions, local hail, strong winds during rainfall, and tornadoes.

STRONG WIND WARNING

As the wind is expected to blow strongly and in the form of a storm (50-80 km/h, locally up to 90 km/h in Marmara) from southerly directions in the Marmara region and the North Aegean, caution and precautions should be taken against potential negative consequences.

MARMARA

It is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with local showers and occasional thunderstorms throughout the region. The rainfall is expected to be locally heavy across the region (excluding Edirne and Bilecik), and locally very heavy and severe in the surroundings of Balıkesir. The wind is expected to blow strongly and in the form of a storm (60-90 km/h) from southerly directions.
