MHP Secretary General Büyükataman: Those who make calculations will fall into the pit they dug

Attending an iftar program held at the Merinos Congress Center in Bursa, Büyükataman congratulated the participants on the month of Ramadan and conveyed the greetings of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. Emphasizing that the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish nation are at the center of the Nationalist Movement Party's political understanding, Büyükataman said, "For us, politics means looking out for the interests of our dear nation and protecting the survival of our country."

Touching upon developments in the Middle East, Büyükataman stated that the tension that began with the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28 has increased serious risks in the region. Stating that Israel's policies are dragging the region into fire, Büyükataman used the expression, "Zionist aggression is triggering a crisis that threatens not only Iran but the entire region."

Expressing that energy balances, trade routes, and political relations are under great pressure, Büyükataman said that new conflicts are being fueled in the region through sectarian and ethnic divisions. Saying, "Those who make calculations regarding Turkey will fall into the pit they have dug themselves," Büyükataman added, "They want to sow discord between Sunni and Shia, between Turk and Kurd. However, no Muslim living in this geography will fall for this dirty game."

Stating that the state is strong against threats directed at Turkey, Büyükataman recalled that some missiles fired from Iran towards Turkey were neutralized, saying, "Turkey is not a thoroughfare. Our country has the power to eliminate any kind of threat directed at it."

Drawing attention to the importance of national unity and solidarity, Büyükataman stated that the steps Turkey has taken in the defense industry are a strategic necessity. Büyükataman said, "Our dear nation has not given an opportunity to unserious, ignorant people who underestimate our national security with expressions such as 'What is the need for UCAVs-UAVs?', 'Missiles are scaring the fish', or 'Who is going to attack us?'"

Stating that the People's Alliance is working with determination for the future of Turkey, Büyükataman said that the goal of the Turkish and Turkey Century is progressing strongly. Concluding his speech, Büyükataman also celebrated the upcoming Ramadan Feast and expressed his wish to reach many more feasts in unity and solidarity.
