MHP's Yılmaz claims 'IETT is not renewing vehicles', receives response involving Ministry of Transport
During the 2024 fiscal budget negotiations for IETT, MHP member Volkan Yılmaz's claim that "IETT is insufficient in renewing its vehicle fleet" was met with a rebuttal involving the Ministry of Transport. In a statement backed by documents from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), it was stated that the renewal decision in question has been stalled at the Ministry of Transport.
During the negotiations for the approval of the 2024 fiscal budget of the Istanbul Electric Tram and Tunnel Operations (IETT) at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council, MHP member Volkan Yılmaz made a statement claiming that IETT's vehicle fleet renewal efforts were highly insufficient.
Explaining that IETT would resort to a total of 9 billion lira in borrowing to balance its budget revenues and expenditures, Yılmaz stated that very little funding was allocated for vehicle renewal in the budget.
A response to this statement by MHP Group Deputy Chairman Volkan Yılmaz came from the official social media account of the IMM.

The following statement was made regarding Yılmaz's claims that 'vehicles are not being renewed' on the social media account named IMM News:
The decision regarding the purchase of 400 new buses by the IMM, which was accepted unanimously at UKOME, has not been signed by the Ministry of Transport representatives for 4 months.
