The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) has reported that Infantry Contracted Private Yusuf Sait Ünlü, who was serving in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, has been martyred.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, Ünlü was wounded as a result of fire opened while intervening in a border crossing incident on October 31 in the area of responsibility of the 7th Border Brigade Command.
Ünlü, who was transported by helicopter to Hakkari State Hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions performed at the hospital.
The statement from the Ministry of National Defense is as follows:
"Our comrade-in-arms, Infantry Contracted Private Yusuf Sait Ünlü, who was wounded by fire opened during an intervention in a border crossing incident on October 31 in the Yüksekova, Hakkari region of the 7th Border Brigade Command, could not be saved despite all interventions at the Hakkari State Hospital to which he was transported by helicopter, and has been martyred. We wish God's mercy upon our dear martyr who lost his life in this incident that has plunged us into deep pain and sorrow, and we extend our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation."
