Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) mayoral candidate Murat Kurum met with young people at the Kağıthane Municipality Youth Assembly building as part of his election campaign.

Speaking there, Kurum stated that young people would have a say in Istanbul and that they would implement a 25 percent youth quota and a 25 percent women's quota for municipal employment.

ELECTION PLEDGE TO YOUTH

Kurum stated that there would be a 40 percent discount on public transportation and that 25 cubic meters of natural gas support would be provided to young people living in student housing. Murat Kurum noted that they would provide 50,000 lira in home appliance support to young people in need who are getting married for the first time.

Explaining that they would also support young entrepreneurs, Kurum said, "We will provide 100,000 lira in capital support to our young people who have received their training and are starting a new business. We will create shared offices in 39 districts that will serve 100,000 of our young people."

Kurum also stated that a support payment of 10,000 lira would be made to university students in need who apply.

"GOD WILLING, YOUTH WILL WIN ON THE EVENING OF MARCH 31"

Kurum said, "We will always be by the side of our citizens and our youth. We will implement a full-time municipal management approach. We will work with a municipal management approach that is always by the side of its nation, its youth, its women, and Istanbul, rather than one that only stops by the municipality in its spare time."

Touching upon the youth assembly to be established within the İBB, Kurum said, "God willing, the youth will win on the evening of March 31, and together we will end the period of stagnation. We will start a new era of rise. In the youth assembly we will establish, there will be young friends from every field and every profession who will represent you."

As part of his election campaign, Kurum visited a shopping mall in Kağıthane. Kurum, who gifted toys to children, also chatted with citizens who were shopping.

Entering a store where women's handmade products are sold, Kurum said, "We will give 100,000 lira in capital to 100,000 women entrepreneurs. These businesses will be all over Istanbul. Women will produce and support the household economy."

Kurum stated that they would lift Istanbul up with its women and its youth.
