A collapse occurred for reasons yet to be determined at a privately operated mine in the Gelik town of the district.

The trapped miners, identified as Anıl A. and Furkan B., requested help via the mine's internal communication line, stating that they were unable to reach the surface but that their health was in good condition.

While rescue efforts were initiated by their colleagues, gendarmerie, 112 Emergency Health, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the region upon notification of the situation.

RESCUED AFTER 11 HOURS OF WORK

Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu also arrived at the scene to receive information.

The miners were rescued after a rescue operation that lasted approximately 11 hours.

It was reported that the miners, who were taken to Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital following checks by medical teams, are in good health.
