There had been no news for a week regarding 13-year-old Serkan, the son of Elif Ceren Arslan—who was murdered by a man she had rejected in the Selçuklu district of Konya—after he was placed in a Children's Care Home affiliated with the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

The case of the missing child, reported by Hazal Güven of 12punto, had also been brought to the parliamentary agenda as a written question by IYI Party member Turhan Çömez.

A new development regarding Serkan was shared on the social media account of the Association of Children and Women First, which had been trying to find 13-year-old Serkan. The information that Serkan, who had been missing for about a week, was delivered to his dormitory under police escort was conveyed with the following words:
