Resignation statement from IYI Party's Mehmet Mustafa Gürban, whose name was linked to AKP: 'Due to necessity'
It was alleged in July that IYI Party Gaziantep MP Mehmet Mustafa Gürban would resign from his party and join the AKP. IYI Party Spokesperson Buğra Kavuncu had responded to these claims by saying, 'We cannot vouch for anyone's honor.' One month after these discussions, Gürban issued his resignation statement.
IYI Party Gaziantep MP Mehmet Mustafa Gürban announced on his social media account that he has resigned from his party.
Gürban had previously removed the 'IYI Party' reference from his social media accounts and deleted his posts related to the party some time ago.

ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE PUBLIC
To the noble Turkish nation,
I have worked with all my strength, great faith, and determination until today for the sake of the Republic of Turkey and the great Turkish nation to reach a more prosperous, peaceful, and stronger future.
It is indisputable that all my efforts have been in line with our common values and the interests of our nation.
Throughout my life, I have adopted the principle of living under the shadow of the glorious Turkish flag, upholding our national and spiritual values and our deep-rooted cultural heritage. I am performing my duty as a Member of Parliament with this understanding, with honor, and with a sense of responsibility.
Due to necessity, I am resigning from my IYI Party membership.
I would like to thank everyone who respects the organizational law, in the presence of our esteemed Chairman and our Founding Chairman.
I respectfully submit to the public that I will continue my duty under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in the coming period with the same determination and a stronger will.
