Şamil Tayyar says 'I could not remain indifferent to the messages' and warns: 'DEM' must lay down its arms first

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) echoed with slogans chanted for PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan before the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Group Meeting.

A group of women who came to attend the DEM Party Group Meeting chanted, "Hope is a right, it cannot be blocked!" This slogan immediately brought to mind the "Right to Hope" mentioned by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli in Parliament. 

Another slogan the group chanted while entering the Parliament gate was "Biji Serok Apo!" (Long live Leader Apo!). 

While reactions from the government and opposition fronts have been pouring in regarding these images, AKP member Tayyar also made a comment following the numerous messages he received on the subject.

AKP member Tayyar stated the following in his post on his social media account:

They say, stay away from expressions that will derail the resolution process.

We are staying away, with patience.

Our wish is for terrorism to end and for the law of brotherhood to be established.

I observe that from the very beginning, the most threatening attitude regarding the process has been coming from DEM.

I was not going to get into the subject, but I felt the need to write because I received so many messages about what happened at the DEM group meeting today.

Separating the east of the country by calling it 'Kurdistan' under the roof of Parliament and chanting separatist slogans for Öcalan is unacceptable.

A climate of peace cannot be created by touching the nerves of society and by being divisive.

It seems that before the terrorist organization PKK, DEM needs to lay down its 'arms'.

Hani deniyor ya, çözüm sürecini akamete uğratacak ifadelerden uzak durun.

Duruyoruz, sabırla.

Dileğimiz; terörün bitmesi, kardeşlik hukukunun tesis edilmesi.

Bakıyorum, başından beri sürece ilişkin en tehdit edici tavır, DEM’den geliyor.
