Social media accounts were shut down: İmamoğlu says 'Erdoğan and his party will fall to 20 percent'
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu reacted to the access bans imposed on his social media accounts. İmamoğlu claimed that the vote share of the government and the AKP would fall to 20 percent.
Many social media accounts have been shut down since the day İmamoğlu was arrested.
Most recently, yesterday, court orders were issued to shut down both his YouTube channel and the X account of his presidential candidacy office.
İmamoğlu wrote that the shutting down of his accounts indicates that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his party, the AKP, will experience a major decline in their vote shares.
İmamoğlu stated, "This is not a claim, it is more than that..."
In a post shared from his new social media account, İmamoğlu used the following expressions:
"This government, Erdoğan and his party will fall to 20 percent.
In the struggle for the Republic, democracy, and justice; the support of our people for the parties that oppose this dark order will reach at least 70 percent.
This is not a claim, it is more than that…
That is exactly why my accounts are being shut down. But what is the use; water flows and finds its way."
