Statement from the Ministry of National Defense regarding F-16 procurement from the US

The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) held its weekly briefing.

Ministry sources, making statements regarding the procurement of F-16s from the US, announced that the contracts have been signed and that work on the details is continuing through discussions between mutual delegations.

The following statements were included in the announcement:

"Contracts have been signed, and work on the details is continuing through discussions between mutual delegations. The details that will emerge after decisions are made on the specifics will be shared with the public in due course."

PKK'S ELECTIONS IN SYRIA POSTPONED BUT NO CANCELLATION DECISION ISSUED

Ministry sources said the following regarding the so-called local elections that the terrorist organization PKK/PYD/YPG/SDF planned to hold in northern Syria and announced they had postponed:

"Our President and our Minister had previously made the necessary warnings regarding the non-holding of these elections. We had warned that these so-called elections should be completely canceled rather than postponed. These so-called elections that the terrorist organization wants to hold are contrary to UN Security Council Resolution 2254 and the territorial integrity of Syria. We reiterate our warning that they should be completely canceled, not postponed."
