Storm and heavy rainfall warning
According to the latest warnings from the Meteorological Service, heavy rainfall and winds reaching speeds between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour are expected in the western regions. Temperatures across the country are expected to be well above seasonal averages.
According to weather assessments shared by meteorological officials for Saturday, February 21, 2026, a new weather system is expected to affect the western provinces in particular. Residents of the region have been warned to be cautious against heavy rainfall and strong winds.
A noticeable increase in temperature values will also be observed. According to forecasts, air temperatures will exceed seasonal norms by 6 to 8 degrees. It is noted that this situation may have negative effects, particularly on health.
It was also noted that the risk of dust transport continues in the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia regions, and temporary declines in air quality may occur. On the other hand, there is an avalanche risk in the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions. Experts advise residents of the region and those engaged in mountaineering activities to exercise caution.
Citizens are urged to follow the current warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology and to take precautions against adverse weather conditions.
