Tense hours in Damascus: Explosion near Ministry of Defense building

A violent explosion has occurred for reasons yet to be determined in Damascus, the capital of Syria. Initial reports indicate that there are numerous casualties following the blast near a building affiliated with the Ministry of Defense.
