Abu Hamza, spokesperson for the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, also said in a statement: "We have a number of Zionist soldiers in our captivity."

Abu Hamza also noted that the Al-Quds Brigades, along with other Palestinian groups, carried out a series of attacks behind enemy lines as part of the "Al-Aqsa Flood." There has been no statement from Israel yet regarding this announcement by the Palestinian groups.
