This time the warning came from AKOM: Strong storm alert for Istanbul

Warnings have been issued across the city for strong winds and storms expected to take effect in Istanbul starting tomorrow morning. Authorities stated that winds, particularly from northern directions, will blow at speeds of 50 to 70 kilometers per hour, and this speed could reach 80 kilometers per hour in some regions.

The Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) announced that the Marmara Region will come under the influence of a cold air wave and that temperatures will drop by 2 to 4 degrees. According to AKOM's forecasts, this sudden cooling could also bring snowfall in some locations.

In a statement made by the Governor's Office, it was noted: “According to the assessments of the General Directorate of Meteorology; the wind expected in our region on Monday, February 2 (Tomorrow), is forecast to blow from northern directions as strong winds and occasional storms (50-70 km/h, locally 80 km/h). Due to the storm, one must be careful and cautious against negative consequences such as disruptions in transportation, roof dislodgement, and tree falls.”

The statements also emphasized that citizens and drivers should be careful regarding various potential negative situations such as transportation difficulties, pieces of roofs breaking off or flying away, and trees falling.
