Threat allegations against Tamer Karadağlı: 'If you mess with my manager, I will dismantle Van!'
It has been alleged that State Theatres General Manager Tamer Karadağlı threatened two artists working at the Van State Theatre with exile.
It has been alleged that Tamer Karadağlı, who was appointed as the General Manager of State Theatres, threatened two artists working in Van with "exile."
A new allegation has been added to those concerning Tamer Karadağlı, who was appointed as General Manager of State Theatres by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In a petition submitted to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Inspection Board, artists Ö.T. and E.K., who work at the Van State Theatre, stated that after a dispute in Van, they were summoned to Ankara and threatened by Karadağlı, who allegedly said, "If you mess with my manager, I will dismantle Van; just as you have established your order, I will exile both of you."
According to the two artists' complaint petition, Ö.T. and E.K. were invited to Ankara and attended a meeting at the General Directorate.
'EXILE' THREAT FROM DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER
During this time, Deputy General Manager Emre Başer threw the lighter in his hand onto the table and asked, "Yes, gentlemen, explain. What is your problem? Are you not afraid of being exiled?" General Manager Tamer Karadağlı then entered the room.
"IF YOU MESS WITH MY DIRECTOR, I WILL DISMANTLE VAN"
According to a report by Sözcü, it came to light that two artists argued with the Acting Director of the Van State Theatre, Ferdi Erkmen, and "You are not my director" they said.
Karadağlı gave a speech and said, "It is clear that you are good actors, it is clear that this place is your playground. Ferdi is a director we raised from scratch and he is successful. But if you mess with my director, I will dismantle Van. The moment you settle into your routine, I will exile you to İzmir, and you to Istanbul. As long as I remain in this seat, I will deal with you. Is there any need for this?" he said.
Gaye Filiz Alacacı, an artist from the Ankara State Theatre, had previously filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, alleging that her phone was confiscated and she was held in a room for three hours because she criticized State Theatres General Manager Tamer Karadağlı on social media. Karadağlı responded to the allegations by saying, "My priorities are different; I am busy with theatre."
