Trade Minister Bolat discusses export restrictions with Palestinian minister: 'Efforts will continue at the highest level'

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat held a phone call with Palestinian Minister of National Economy Mohammed al-Amour regarding the export restrictions imposed on Israel, which continues its attacks on Palestine.

"OUR GOAL IS TO CHANGE ISRAEL'S UNYIELDING STANCE"

Stating that he emphasized during the call that the massacre-level attacks in Gaza must be stopped immediately and that humanitarian aid corridors and convoys must be allowed to operate, Bolat told al-Amour the following:

"As Turkey, until Israel accepts a permanent ceasefire and allows humanitarian aid convoys to enter Gaza, we have prepared a list of product groups that will not be permitted to be sent from Turkey to Israel, in accordance with the decision taken yesterday. This situation may also affect Palestinian merchants doing business on Palestinian lands, but our main goal is to ensure that Israel changes its unyielding stance regarding a ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid convoys."

"EFFORTS WILL CONTINUE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL"

Minister Bolat stated that he expressed to Minister al-Amour that Turkey has stood by the Palestinian government and people from the very beginning, saying, "I said that as our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, our Ministry of Trade, our Ministry of Health, AFAD, and the Turkish Red Crescent, we are doing the maximum possible efforts to defend the rights and laws of our innocent brothers and sisters in Gaza, and that these efforts will continue at the highest level."

Bolat conveyed that Palestinian Minister of National Economy al-Amour said the following:

"They expressed their gratitude to Turkey, our President, and our government, on behalf of the people of Gaza and all Palestinians. Minister al-Amour stated that Turkey is among the leading countries providing the greatest support to Palestine against Israel. They expressed their support for our country's decision to impose restrictions on Israel for certain products, and stated that they are aware that although trade from Turkey to the Palestinian side may also be affected by this decision, the main goal of this decision is to stop Israel's aggression, achieve an immediate ceasefire, and ensure the passage of humanitarian aid convoys to Gaza, and they expressed their thanks for this."
