Two people arrested following water crisis in Yalova
Kurtköy Neighborhood Headman Y.T. and former municipal employee and council member S.A., who were detained following a "foaming" incident in the drinking water line in Yalova, have been arrested by the court. The arrest decision was made after substances dangerous to human health were detected in the incident in question.
On the evening of January 29, foaming was detected in the Kadıköy-Kurtköy regulator pool, after which a water outage was implemented across the city for approximately 1 day as a precautionary measure. Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Kurtköy Neighborhood Headman Y.T., council member N.U., and former municipal employee and also council members S.A., G.K., and Ö.B. were detained.

Among the suspects referred to the Yalova Courthouse, G.K., Ö.B., and N.U. were released after their statements to the prosecutor's office. Y.T. and S.A. were referred to the Yalova Duty Magistrate Court with a request for arrest in accordance with Article 185 of the Turkish Penal Code due to the detection of substances dangerous to human health as a result of the analysis of the samples taken and the current state of evidence.

While the suspects denied the accusations, headman Y.T. and the dismissed former municipal employee and council member S.A. were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
