Ümit Özdağ calls on the opposition: 'Do not be complicit in the crime'; announces 4-point commission dissent
Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ expressed his reactions regarding the commission planned to be established in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) in a post on his social media account, calling on the opposition.
Özdağ stated regarding the commission planned to be established in the TBMM, "A commission is being formed within the framework of the negotiation process initiated with Öcalan and the PKK in the TBMM. The Zafer Party argues that no opposition party, including the CHP, should participate in this commission."
In his social media post, Ümit Özdağ made the following statement regarding the commission planned to be established in the TBMM:
"A commission is being formed within the framework of the negotiation process initiated with Öcalan and the PKK in the TBMM. The Zafer Party argues that no opposition party, including the CHP, should participate in this commission.
1) This commission will legitimize the current negotiation process that has begun between the AKP, MHP, DEM, and Öcalan/PKK.
2) It will mean that Öcalan and the PKK are being treated as interlocutors by the Veteran Assembly that waged the War of Independence and founded the state.
3) This commission will be a commission to respond to the demands of the PKK and to legitimize and fulfill these demands.
4) Beyond responding to and legitimizing PKK demands, this commission will have undertaken the task of bringing amnesty and political freedom to the PKK through legal regulations to be made, and the liquidation of the nation-unitary state with a new constitution. In other words, the TBMM, which founded the state on April 23, 1920, will now have liquidated that state.
For these four fundamental reasons, no opposition party should take part in the commission; they should not be complicit in the crime of liquidating the Republic of Turkey.
As the Zafer Party, by not participating in this commission, we will explain the major problems that the ongoing process will bring upon Turkey together with national political forces that oppose it, by traveling from district to district and village to village, and by organizing rallies, conferences, and panels. We will explain the disasters that negotiations with the PKK will bring upon our country on social media and on television."
