Ümit Özdağ's 'Peace Dove' comment regarding Demirtaş's release

Zafer Party Chairman Özdağ attended his party's 2nd Ordinary Provincial Congress in Eskişehir. 

Regarding the crash of a military cargo plane on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border that resulted in the martyrdom of 20 soldiers, Özdağ said, "The reason for this plane's crash will be revealed through investigations." He added, "What we can say at this stage is that it must be understood and seen that the Turkish Air Force's fighter jets and cargo planes need to be modernized very quickly, their maintenance must be improved, and these aging aircraft should now be taken out of service." 

"IS THIS MAN INNOCENT?"

Criticizing the 'Turkey without terrorism' process, Özdağ said regarding Selahattin Demirtaş, who is currently imprisoned, "It is understood that Selahattin Demirtaş will be released in the coming days.

Selahattin Demirtaş is being presented as a peace dove, like a folk poet.

Is this man, who said he would erect a statue of Abdullah Öcalan, innocent and someone who will pave the way for peace and democracy?" he asked.
