Unlicensed production facilities in the earthquake zone will be able to sell their surplus electricity

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EMRA) board decision on the matter has been published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, due to the earthquakes on February 6, for unlicensed production facilities in cities where a state of emergency was declared or that were designated as disaster zones, the entire amount of surplus electricity eligible for sale from production facilities commissioned this year—associated with consumption facilities also commissioned for the first time this year—will be taken into account.

On the other hand, in cases where the total non-netted electricity energy consumption of the relevant facilities for both 2023 and 2024 is lower than the non-netted value for 2022, the consumption data for 2022 will be used in calculating the amount of electricity production eligible for sale next year.
