As the Israel-Hamas war continues on its 18th day, life in the blockaded Gaza Strip has come to a standstill.

Currently facing its greatest challenge with fuel, the Ministry of Health in Gaza stated today via its Telegram account, with Ministry Spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra saying, "We have less than 48 hours left before all generators in Gaza's hospitals stop running."

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) described the latest point reached in the fuel crisis as follows:

''If fuel is not provided, we will be forced to stop our operations in Gaza tomorrow evening, and because of this, people may die.''

5,500 BIRTHS EXPECTED IN ONE MONTH

The need for fuel is of vital importance for thousands of people waiting in hospitals.

According to the World Health Organization, at least 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza are unable to access basic health services. It is reported that approximately 5,500 of them are expected to give birth in the coming month. At least seven of the approximately 30 hospitals have been forced to close due to damage caused by Israel's relentless attacks, as well as shortages of electricity, water, and other supplies.

The remaining hospitals are also experiencing a shortage of doctors.
