Two dry cargo ships collided while sailing off the coast of Üsküdar. It was observed that one of the ships shook due to the impact but did not capsize. It was noted that the other ship, whose rudder had locked, drifted toward the shore.

Upon notification, teams from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were dispatched to the scene. Both ships sustained damage due to the collision. The moment of the collision was captured on a citizen's mobile phone camera.

STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRUCTURE REGARDING THE SHIP ACCIDENT IN THE BOSPHORUS

The 80-meter-long dry cargo ship 'AYED 1', sailing from Batumi to Saudi Arabia, and the 180-meter-long bulk carrier 'BUNUN ACE', sailing from Spain to Batumi, collided off the coast of Üsküdar.

In a statement regarding the accident, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, "In the incident that occurred, only material damage was sustained by the ships, and the situation is being monitored."

The 80-meter-long dry cargo ship 'AYED-1', sailing from Batumi to Saudi Arabia, and the 180-meter-long bulk carrier 'BUNUN ACE', sailing from Spain to Batumi, collided off the coast of Üsküdar.

"THE SHIPS WILL BE TOWED TO THE AHIRKAPI ANCHORAGE AREA"

Following the accident, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure stated, "Due to the 80-meter-long dry cargo ship AYED 1, sailing from Batumi to Saudi Arabia, and the 180-meter-long bulk carrier BUNUN ACE, sailing from Spain to Batumi, grazing each other off the coast of Üsküdar, our KURTARMA-2, KURTARMA-5, and MEHMETÇİK tugboats, as well as our KEGM-4 fast rescue boat, belonging to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure's General Directorate of Coastal Safety, were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The ships will be towed to the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area. In the incident that occurred, only material damage was sustained by the ships, and the situation is being monitored.

The Kurtarma-2, Kurtarma-5, and Mehmetçik tugboats, along with the KEGM-4 fast rescue boat affiliated with the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, were dispatched to the scene. It was learned that the ships will be towed to the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area," the statement read.
