Fire at ÇAYKUR factory in Rize! Production halted
A fire broke out tonight at the Ardeşen Tea Factory belonging to ÇAYKUR, located in the Ardeşen district of Rize. According to initial reports, workers were evacuated following the fire, which started in the factory's dust room, and production has been completely halted.
Kaçkar Fire Department teams intervened in the fire, which broke out around 01:15, while extinguishing efforts were carried out with difficulty due to the tea dust smoldering from within.
Due to the progression of the fine dust fire in the interior sections of the factory, dense smoke formed around Yavuz Selim Neighborhood, Deniz Neighborhood, and Atatürk Street.
While there were no casualties or injuries in the incident, the factory sustained material damage.
