Heavy penalty for driver drifting in Ataşehir
Police teams imposed a 20,342 lira fine on a driver who endangered traffic by drifting in Ataşehir.
Officers from the Istanbul Police Department determined that a vehicle was drifting on İnönü Street, endangering traffic, based on footage shared on some social media platforms yesterday.
POLICE TEAMS REACHED THE DRIVER VIA LICENSE PLATE
The teams apprehended the driver, identified as B.B., after tracing their identity information from the vehicle's license plate. B.B. was issued an administrative fine of 20,342 lira under the "drifting" clause of the Highway Traffic Law, their driver's license was confiscated for 60 days, and the vehicle was banned from traffic for 60 days.
JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS INITIATED
Judicial proceedings were also initiated against the driver for "using means of transportation in a manner that endangers the life and property safety of individuals."
