What will the weather be like on March 6? Rain and cold to affect many regions

According to meteorological forecasts, cloudy weather will prevail across Turkey on Friday, March 6. Rain and showers are expected particularly in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean, as well as in Central Anatolia (except Eskişehir), the Black Sea region, the northern and eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia, and around Muğla, Isparta, Sakarya, Bilecik, Batman, and Siirt, as well as in the east of Kocaeli and Mardin. In the higher elevations of the interior, sleet and snowfall are expected to be effective in some places.

There is a possibility of icing and frost in the interior and eastern provinces during the morning and night hours. While a drop of 3 to 5 degrees is expected in temperatures in the Black Sea region, there will be no significant change in temperatures in other parts of the country.

HEAVY RAIN AND AVALANCHE WARNING

Authorities have reported that rainfall may be locally intense after nightfall in Şırnak, Hakkari, Bitlis, and the southern and western parts of Van, urging citizens to take precautions. It was also stated that heavy rainfall may be seen in the east of Siirt.

It was announced that the danger of avalanches and snowmelt continues in the high altitudes of the Eastern Black Sea region and in the sloped areas of Eastern Anatolia where snow cover is dense.

WEATHER BY REGION

In the Marmara region, intermittent rain is expected in Sakarya, Bilecik, and the east of Kocaeli. Istanbul, Edirne, and Kırklareli will generally have a cloudy day.

In the Aegean region, the surroundings of Muğla will receive showers. A very cloudy sky will prevail in Afyonkarahisar, Denizli, İzmir, and Manisa.

While rain and showers will be seen in the central and eastern districts of the Mediterranean, rainfall will be effective in the afternoon in provinces such as Adana, Hatay, Mersin, and Antalya.

Intermittent rain and snowfall at higher altitudes are expected in most of the Central Anatolia region. Attention is drawn to rain and sleet in Ankara and Konya after nightfall.

In the Black Sea region, both the western and eastern parts will experience rain, as well as snowfall at higher altitudes. Precipitation may be seen during the day in Tokat, Bolu, Kastamonu, and Zonguldak.

In Eastern Anatolia, heavy rain and snow will be effective in many provinces, primarily Hakkari, Şırnak, Bitlis, and Van. The risk of frost and icing will continue throughout the day in the region.

In Southeastern Anatolia, showers are expected in Batman, Siirt, and the east of Mardin, with a risk of heavy rainfall in the east of Siirt at night.

LATEST ON WIND AND TEMPERATURE

It was announced that the wind will generally blow from the north, and from the south in Southeastern Anatolia, at light to moderate strength. Except for the expected temperature drop in the Black Sea, temperatures across the country will remain within seasonal norms.

While the lowest and highest temperatures of the day vary from region to region, nighttime temperatures are expected to be below zero, especially in the eastern provinces.
