Anthropic, the developer of the Claude artificial intelligence models, has submitted a registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch an initial public offering (IPO). The company plans for its Class A common stock to be traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "ANT."
The number of shares to be offered and the expected price per share have not yet been disclosed in the filing. The document stated that in addition to Anthropic, existing shareholders will also be selling shares; however, no proceeds from these sales will be transferred to the company.
The IPO is intended to be launched as soon as possible after the registration statement becomes effective. The 22 financial institutions involved in the process include Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, Barclays, Wells Fargo Securities, Bank of America Securities, and Deutsche Bank Securities.
The company's filing documents also included notable data regarding its financial statements. Anthropic reported 16.3 billion dollars in revenue for the first six months of 2026, while posting a net loss of 80.7 billion dollars. This amount is nearly five times its revenue for the same period.
Anthropic's net loss had also shown a rapid increase in previous years. The company's losses were recorded at 1.5 billion dollars in 2023, 8.3 billion dollars in 2024, and 41.9 billion dollars in 2025.
The U.S.-based artificial intelligence company had announced in June that it had confidentially submitted a draft registration statement to the SEC as part of its IPO process. According to reports in the international press, it is stated that Anthropic aims to carry out the IPO in November.
