Gasoline price hike incoming: Here are the expected new prices
Rising oil prices due to geopolitical developments have brought expectations of a new hike in fuel prices. Industry sources state that a price increase of 2 lira and 19 kuruş is expected for gasoline, with 55 kuruş of this amount to be reflected at the pump due to the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system.
Expectations of a new increase in fuel prices have emerged. Due to the rise in global oil markets, a price hike for gasoline per liter is anticipated.
Question marks regarding the permanence of the ceasefire declared following the tensions between the US and Iran have caused prices in oil markets to fluctuate once again. Although there has been no disruption in oil shipments in the Strait of Hormuz, geopolitical risks in the region are pushing crude oil prices upward.
THE HIKE AMOUNT HAS BEEN DETERMINED
According to information provided by industry sources, a price increase of 2 lira and 19 kuruş is expected for a liter of gasoline. However, due to the ongoing application of the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, the entire increase will not be reflected in pump prices.
According to calculations, it is expected that 55 kuruş of the hike will be reflected to the consumer, while the remaining portion will be covered within the scope of the system.
WHAT WILL GASOLINE PRICES BE AFTER THE HIKE?
Following the expected increase, the price of a liter of gasoline is expected to reach approximately the following levels:
- Istanbul: 62.84 TL
- Ankara: 63.78 TL
- Izmir: 64.05 TL
- Eastern provinces: approximately 65.40 TL
