Public transport fare hike in Istanbul! Here are the new prices...

According to the decision taken at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) meeting, public transport fares in Istanbul have been increased. While the fare hike for taxis, minibuses, and shuttle services was set at 28.09 percent, the increase for IETT was 18 percent.

According to the new tariff, the full electronic ticket for IETT-affiliated buses has increased from 15 TL to 18.07 TL, and the student ticket has become 8.62 TL. The full Marmaray route fare has increased from 33.20 TL to 39.16 TL. The monthly Mavi Kart price for full fare has been raised from 1,177 TL to 1,388 TL, and the monthly student subscription price has been increased from 212 TL to 250 TL.

TAXI SHORT-DISTANCE FARE INCREASED TO 90 LIRA

The taxi short-distance (indi-bindi) fare has been increased from 70 TL to 90 TL. The taxi opening fee has risen from 19.17 TL to 24.55 TL. Minibus fares will range between 15.50 TL and 20 TL depending on the distance. The student fare for minibuses has been increased from 8 lira to 10 lira.

SHUTTLE SERVICE FEES ALSO INCREASED

Effective from the second semester, the monthly 0-1 km school shuttle fee, which was 1,300 TL, has been raised to 1,665 TL, and the initial departure fee for personnel shuttles with a 10-17 seat capacity has been increased from 675 TL to 865 TL.

The 0-1 kilometer school shuttle fee is 1,665 lira, 1-3 kilometers is 1,783 lira, 3-5 kilometers is 1,926 lira, 5-7 kilometers is 2,008 lira, 7-9 kilometers is 2,117 lira, 9-11 kilometers is 2,451 lira, 11-13 kilometers is 2,821 lira, 13-15 kilometers is 2,965 lira, 15-17 kilometers is 3,199 lira, 17-19 kilometers is 3,384 lira, 19-21 kilometers is 3,600 lira, 21-23 kilometers is 3,750 lira, and 23-25 kilometers is 3,896 lira.

THE LAST HIKE WAS 51 PERCENT

On the other hand, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality last increased public transport fares by 51.52 percent on August 8, 2023.
