The 'single price' era for fuel has begun!
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) board decision regarding the sale of differentiated fuel products at the same price at stations is coming into effect. In this context, prices will be updated at 13,000 stations as of today. So, what are the gasoline and diesel prices as of May 15, 2024?
According to the board decision of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), as of today, no price difference will be applied for the same type of fuel in sales made at fuel stations, regardless of whether they are differentiated or not.
At fuel stations, products will no longer be sold at different prices using terms such as "95 octane gasoline and diesel, ultra force, power, fuelsave, VMax, VPro."
In a statement made by the EPDK, it was stated that distributor license holders could continue to sell differentiated fuel, but that these features would not change the price.
In the statement regarding the decision, which aims to prevent uncertainties for consumers and provide convenience in the operations of distributors and dealers, the following expression was included: "In Turkey, the fuel needs of consumers are met with the highest service and quality standards at approximately 13,000 stations. Quality monitoring is carried out continuously at fuel stations with the Fuel Quality Monitoring System and at fuel filling terminals with the Depot Fuel Quality Monitoring System."
The EPDK stated that distributor license holders can add various additives to improve the properties of fuels, provided that they do not exceed 0.5 percent, and noted that there has been no change in the obligations of distributor license holders to inform the EPDK and obtain the necessary permits regarding the additives to be used for this process.
ACCORDING TO CURRENT FUEL PUMP PRICES;
Istanbul
Gasoline: 42.69 TL
Diesel: 40.17 TL
Ankara
Gasoline price: 43.61 TL
Diesel price: 41.12 TL
Izmir
Gasoline price: 43.85 TL
Diesel price: 41.37 TL
The price of a liter of LPG is sold at an average of 21.80 TL.
Prices vary between provinces, districts, and dealers.
HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?
When calculating gasoline and diesel prices in Turkey; the refinery sales price excluding VAT is found by adding the SCT (Special Consumption Tax) and the EPDK share to the duty-free refinery price.
When calculating the Duty-Free Refinery Price, the daily CIF Mediterranean product prices published in the Mediterranean-Italian market and the daily Dollar exchange rate are followed, and the duty-free refinery ceiling sales price is obtained based on a certain price change margin.
