Vice President Yılmaz makes statement on SCT increase and inflation

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made important statements regarding the economy during a program he attended on NTV.

Yılmaz stated that the Turkish economy grew by 2 percent in the first quarter and that Central Bank reserves are on an upward trend, exceeding 155 billion dollars.

Stating that they aim to ensure balanced growth while reducing inflation in line with economic targets, Yılmaz said that positive developments are being experienced in the fields of employment and growth.

Emphasizing that inflation is their top priority, Cevdet Yılmaz said, "Annual inflation has fallen by over 40 points in 12 months. We will see figures in the 20s by the end of the year. Next year, we will reach figures in the 10s."

Regarding the SCT increase, he used the following expressions: "An evaluation process is underway. It is being examined how fiscal policy contributes to inflation. This has not been fully decided yet. After the inflation rate is revealed tomorrow, this decision will be made with a final evaluation."

Providing information about the F-35 and Eurofighter processes, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said, "Our relevant institutions are managing the negotiations. Restrictions should be lifted. Decisions should be made according to the negotiations. There is a positive trend with Germany, France, and the UK in the Eurofighter process."
