2,500 TL monthly support from IMM to families in need: Application date announced

The application calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year for the School Nutrition Support Card program, conducted by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) for households in need with school-age children, has been announced.

Applications for the new term will begin on August 25, 2026. Applications will be accepted online via the IMM's social assistance application system at sosyalyardim.ibb.gov.tr.

The program aims to support the basic nutritional needs of school-age children living in Istanbul who are in socioeconomically disadvantaged conditions. It seeks to strengthen continuity in education and equal opportunity by contributing to the children's adequate and balanced nutrition.

According to the information provided by the IMM, the service provides households identified as needing socioeconomic support and having school-age children with a monthly cash support of 2,500 TL and 1 loaf of Halk Ekmek (People's Bread) daily.

Households that will benefit from the support are determined as a result of a social investigation. For applications to be evaluated positively, the household must be in need of socioeconomic support, not currently benefiting from another social assistance program, and have a child of primary school age who is enrolled in school.

Support will be provided to households whose applications are accepted for two academic terms. Within the scope of the program, 15,714 households were reached between November 10, 2025, and July 31, 2026. During this period, a total of 306 million 668 thousand TL in cash support and 4 million 600 thousand 20 units of Halk Ekmek were provided.
