Digital era for green and grey passport applications

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has taken a significant digital step for personnel wishing to obtain special (green) and service (grey) passports. Passport applications for personnel will now be received via the pasaport.meb.gov.tr address. With the new system, the era of traditional paper documentation has come to an end, and time-consuming correspondence between schools, district, and provincial directorates is now a thing of the past.

The application process will be significantly shortened thanks to electronic approvals received via web services. Application forms entered into the system will be instantly transferred to the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs database. Consequently, personnel whose transactions are completed will be notified via SMS.

According to the new directive published by the Ministry, applications will be carried out as follows: Personnel wishing to obtain a special passport will apply individually directly through the pasaport.meb.gov.tr address. For grey passports, applications in the central organization will be entered into the system by the General Directorate for European Union and Foreign Affairs. Those working in the provincial organization will carry out their applications through the Provincial Directorates of National Education.

For personnel with missing or incorrect information in the database, procedures will continue to be handled through traditional methods by the General Directorate of Personnel in the center and by the Provincial Directorates of National Education in the provinces. The new application is expected to save time and effort for public employees during the application process.
