5 dead in US tornado disaster

Severe storms and tornadoes have affected the US states of Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Iowa.

In a statement made by the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, it was reported that a total of 2 people, including a 4-month-old baby, lost their lives in Holdenville, and one person died on an interstate highway in the city of Marietta.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, who declared a state of emergency in the state, announced in a statement yesterday that one person had lost their life in the town of Sulphur in Murray County.

100 PEOPLE INJURED

In the state where at least 100 people were injured, more than 24 thousand people were left without electricity. It was also reported that a person who was injured in a tornado that occurred on Friday in the city of Minden in the state of Iowa has died.

While search and damage assessment efforts continue in the disaster areas, shelters have been established for those displaced.
