Downpour warning for Istanbul from AKOM: It will last for days!

AKOM has issued warnings regarding heavy rainfall that will affect the country throughout this weekend. It was reported that the rainfall, which will begin locally in Istanbul starting today, will cover the entire city by tomorrow and last for several days. Experts pointed out that citizens who will spend time outdoors should be careful.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) issued warnings that thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will be effective not only in Istanbul but also in many regions of the country. The statement indicated that similar weather conditions will be seen in other cities as well as Istanbul. It was stated that temperatures will remain at levels appropriate for the spring season but will drop to the 8-14 °C range later in the week. Reminding that such weather conditions could increase the risk of flooding and other natural disasters, it was emphasized that emergency plans should be reviewed. AKOM calls on the public to be conscious and prepared.

With the new week, there will be a significant drop in air temperatures. According to information provided by AKOM, temperatures in Istanbul are expected to drop to 8 degrees starting Monday. This indicates that a temperature level below seasonal norms will prevail.
