AKOM issues warning with specific dates: Heavy snowfall is at Istanbul's doorstep
According to the weekly forecast shared by AKOM, rainy weather is intensifying in Istanbul. Sleet is expected after nighttime hours, and heavy snowfall will be seen in some parts of the city starting Monday morning.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has announced its weather forecasts for the new week. According to the shared report, while rain will be effective throughout the city during the day, the type of precipitation will change starting from nighttime hours.
In AKOM's assessment, it was stated that the rain would turn into sleet in the late hours of the night, and snowfall would be seen especially in higher elevations. It was emphasized that heavy snowfall is expected to be effective in various parts of Istanbul starting from the early hours of Monday morning.
