AKOM issues warning with specific dates: Temperatures to drop in Istanbul, downpours on the way

It has been reported that the high temperatures that have been affecting Istanbul for some time will come to an end in the coming days. According to the latest weather forecast report published by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), sunny and hot weather will continue to prevail in the city on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperature values are expected to rise to 31 degrees at noon on Thursday.

A significant change in weather conditions is expected as the weekend approaches. According to the data released by AKOM, there will be no significant change in temperatures on Friday. However, as of Saturday, thermometers are expected to drop to the 28-degree level. With this drop, thunderstorms expected to be effective across the city are predicted to bring relief to Istanbul residents.

The AKOM report stated that rainfall could reach between 5 and 12 kilograms per square meter across the city, and that air temperatures would drop below seasonal norms during the precipitation. Experts advised citizens planning activities, especially for Saturday, to be prepared for the possibility of rain.

The rainy weather is expected to lose its effect in the region starting Sunday. It was reported that from the beginning of next week, the weather will be partly cloudy and clear again, with temperatures hovering between 28 and 30 degrees.

On the other hand, it was noted that on Thursday, the wind will blow from the northeast at a speed of 10 to 35 kilometers per hour, and the sea water temperature will be around 23 degrees. It was emphasized that Istanbul residents should be careful against both the cooling weather and sudden downpours in the coming days.
