Governor's Office announces: Entry to forests prohibited until September 30
In Bolu, entry into forested areas has been prohibited between July 15 and September 30 due to the risk of forest fires. The Governor's Office announced that controlled picnics will only be permitted in designated forest and nature parks between 10:00 and 20:00.
The Bolu Governor's Office has implemented new measures to prevent potential forest fires as temperatures rise. In this context, entry into forested areas across the province has been prohibited between July 15 and September 30, 2026. In the statement issued by the Governor's Office, it was reported that picnics may only be held in forest and nature parks announced on the official website, within the specified hours and conditions. The decision noted that only camping stoves will be permitted in Abant Nature Park, while activities that could cause fires in or near forested areas have been prohibited.
"ENTRY TO ALL FORESTED AREAS IS PROHIBITED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30"
The decision published by the Bolu Governor's Office stated the following: "Entry to all forested areas within the borders of Bolu province is prohibited between July 15, 2026, and September 30, 2026. However, picnics may be held in the Forest and Nature Parks announced on our Governor's Office official website, provided that no ground fires are lit, using only stoves, barbecues, grills, camping stoves, and samovars between 10:00 and 20:00. In Abant Nature Park, only camping stoves may be used during the aforementioned hours. Lighting any kind of fire or using grills, samovars, camping stoves, barbecues, etc., in forested areas outside of the specified locations and conditions is prohibited. The use of flammable materials such as fireworks, sky lanterns, etc., that could cause forest fires in areas near forests is prohibited."
AREAS WHERE PICNICS ARE PERMITTED HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED
The Governor's Office also announced the areas where controlled picnics are permitted during the day. Accordingly, the forest parks include Çakmaklar Çamlığı, Tokadi Hayrettin, and Gökdere in the Bolu city center; Amanlar in Dörtdivan; Gerede City Forest in Gerede; Devren Tarla in Kıbrıscık; Şirinyazı in Mengen; and Kozyaka and Seben Lake in Seben. Within the scope of nature parks, it was reported that picnics can be held within the established rules at Ayıkayası, Göksu, Beşpınar, and Kargalı Gölcük in the Bolu city center; Sülüklü Lake in the Taşkesti town of Mudurnu; Karagöl in Kıbrıscık; and Arkut Mountain in Gerede.
