Heavy downpour grips Istanbul: AKOM issues warning with specific timing
Istanbul residents started the week with heavy rainfall; it was reported that the rains will continue intermittently throughout the week.
The heavy downpour that has been effective in Istanbul since the morning hours has negatively impacted life across the city. Authorities announced that between 15 and 35 kilograms of precipitation per square meter have fallen since the morning. The rainfall is expected to be particularly effective on the European Side during the first half of Monday, and on the Anatolian Side in the afternoon.
In a statement made by AKOM, it was noted that the rainfall in the province will continue to be strong in places until 22:00 tonight. However, although it is predicted that the precipitation will temporarily ease starting tonight, it was stated that new rainy weather systems will reach Istanbul during the week and that the rains will continue to show their effect intermittently in the coming days.

Despite this rainy weather, temperatures will rise over time. While the air temperature is measured around 10 degrees on Monday, thermometers are expected to hover between 13 and 17 degrees in the following days. Thus, it is stated that warmer weather will be felt in the city.
While Istanbul residents are urged to be cautious against sudden rainfall and flooding, it is recommended to follow current weather forecasts throughout the week.
