Muğla is burning: Nearby houses evacuated
Due to a forest fire that broke out in the morning, the Fethiye–Seydikemer–Antalya highway was temporarily closed to civilian traffic, while nearby houses were quickly evacuated.
A fire broke out in a forested area near Bayır Neighborhood in the Seydikemer district of Muğla around 07:00 in the morning. Upon the neighborhood residents quickly notifying the fire department, numerous forestry and municipal fire crews were dispatched to the scene. Efforts to combat the flames began both from the air with helicopters and from the ground.
The Fethiye–Seydikemer–Antalya highway, which is connected to the area affected by the fire, was temporarily closed to civilian vehicle traffic for safety reasons. While teams increased precautions both on the road and in residential areas near the forest, some houses were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
It was stated that the windy weather conditions are making it difficult to contain the fire, and intervention efforts are ongoing. Authorities have called on citizens to carefully follow the warnings and directions of the teams.
