Siberian cold arrives in Istanbul

Istanbul has started the new week with a cold air wave arriving from Siberia. Most of the city is facing cloudy skies, along with strong northwesterly and northeasterly winds. While it is reported that this situation will continue for a few more days, cold weather, accompanied by intermittent precipitation, will remain on Istanbul's agenda.

According to the statement made by AKOM, air temperatures are expected to hover in the 5 to 8-degree range in the coming days. It was stated that temperatures will not reach high levels throughout the week and that winter values will be maintained. It was noted that the precipitation, which began especially on Wednesday, will be effective across the city.

On Thursday, the city is expected to be very cloudy with occasional showers, and the highest temperature is expected to be 7°C. The weather in Istanbul will not change significantly on Friday and Saturday; very cloudy and rainy weather will prevail. It is estimated that thermometers will show 6 to 7 degrees on both days.

Experts advise citizens to be careful in their daily lives due to the cool and rainy weather. It was also stated that wind intensity may increase from time to time, blowing from the northwesterly and northeasterly directions at speeds of 10-35 km/h. For this reason, warnings are being issued against possible disruptions and potential problems in transportation.
