Artificial intelligence detected the fire at the initial stage

The artificial intelligence-supported thermal camera system, commissioned by the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality against forest and land fires, detected a land fire that broke out in the Gölmarmara district at its initial stage, contributing to early intervention.

The AI-supported thermal cameras, which have 360-degree movement capability and are placed at 50 strategic points across Manisa, detected the temperature increase and smoke movement caused by the fire within seconds. The automatic alarm generated by the system was instantly transmitted to the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams, while relevant institutions were also informed simultaneously.

In the footage reflected in the system records, it was seen that the thermal camera detected a temperature exceeding 158 degrees at the fire point and generated an automatic alarm. While the region where the fire was located was verified with optical camera images taken at the same time, the process of directing teams to the scene and intervening gained speed.

The artificial intelligence-supported thermal camera system implemented by the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality operates 24/7 without interruption at 50 strategic points in 17 districts. Thanks to the AI-supported software, the smallest smoke movement and temperature changes are analyzed instantly, providing early warnings for potential fires.

Continuing its technological investments aimed at protecting forest areas, agricultural lands, and residential areas under the leadership of Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Besim Dutlulu, the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality continues to contribute to faster and more effective intervention in fires with its AI-supported early warning system.
