Rape investigation launched into Kylian Mbappe

According to reports in the Swedish press, the incident occurred following a visit to a nightclub in Stockholm. The investigation, which was initiated after a woman filed a criminal complaint, has caused widespread repercussions in both the Swedish and global sports communities.

According to the allegations, after Mbappe and his friends left the nightclub, they spent time with a group they had met.

Aftonbladet, one of Sweden's leading newspapers, wrote that after a woman requested medical assistance from a hospital following the incident, the police examined the situation and launched an investigation.

Police teams conducted an inspection at the hotel where Mbappe and his friends were staying following the allegations.

The prosecutor conducting the investigation into the incident left questions from the press unanswered, stating only, "I do not wish to comment."

The complainant's lawyer similarly avoided making a statement. The Swedish press claimed that the report prepared by the Stockholm police confirms the sexual assault allegations.

Mbappe Denies Allegations

Kylian Mbappe, in a statement made via his social media account, categorically denied the allegations against him.

The French footballer stated that the accusations were untrue, using the words, "Fake news! It's so predictable, just before the hearing, as if by chance."
